Description and scope of completed work
The project rehabilitated the shell of a 110-metre reinforced concrete chimney and its steel platforms at the NATRON–HAYAT factory in Maglaj, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Work included hydrodynamic cleaning of 2,800 m² of the outer shell. More than 550 m of damaged concrete was removed to provide corrosion protection to the reinforcement, and approximately 600 m² of damaged concrete surface was reprofiled.
Repair mortar was used to fill nearly 3,700 holes left by formwork ties during construction. A final protective coating was applied to 1,900 m² of the outer shell.
More than 3,000 kg of circular platforms were dismantled, sandblasted, treated against corrosion and reinstalled.
